Privacy Policy

Effective June 20, 2026.

This is an independent local guide, not a repair company. This page explains what information we collect when you use the site, why, and what choices you have. We keep it short and plain.

Who we are

We run tri-valley-hvac-appliance-repair.com, an independent homeowner’s guide to HVAC and appliance repair in the Tri-Valley. If you have a question about your information, use the contact form on this site.

What we collect

When you fill out the “get connected to a local tech” form. We collect what you type: your name, phone number, email (if you give one), your city, what needs work, a short description, and your preferred contact time. We also record the page you submitted from and the time, and we store a one-way hashed version of your IP address (not the full address) to block spam. If you arrived from an online ad, a click identifier may be passed along so the referring ad can be measured.

Automatically, as you browse. Like most sites, we use Google Analytics to understand which pages people read and roughly where visitors come from. This uses cookies and collects things like the pages you view, your approximate location, and your device and browser type. The site also runs on Cloudflare, which processes basic request data (including your IP address) to keep the site fast and secure.

We do not ask for, and you should not send, sensitive information through the form.

How we use it

  • To connect you with a licensed, EPA-certified local contractor who can look at your problem, and to follow up about your request.
  • To keep the site working, measure which guides are useful, and prevent spam and abuse.

Who we share it with

  • The local contractor we connect you to. When you submit the form, the details you provided are passed to a licensed local repair option so they can reach out. The form is a hand-off; the work itself is done by that independent contractor.
  • Service providers that help us run the site, such as Google (Analytics) and Cloudflare (hosting and security), who process data on our behalf.

We do not sell your personal information, and we don’t share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Cookies and analytics

We use analytics cookies to count visits and see which pages help. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics Opt-out add-on. Blocking cookies won’t break the site.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to delete it, or ask us not to share it, by using the contact form on this site. California residents have these rights under the CCPA/CPRA, and we honor them regardless of where you live. We’ll respond within a reasonable time and won’t charge you or treat you differently for asking.

How long we keep it

We keep form submissions only as long as needed to handle your request and for our own records, then remove them. Analytics data is retained on a rolling basis per our analytics settings.

Security

We use reasonable technical measures to protect the information you send, including transport encryption (HTTPS) and restricted access to submissions. No method is perfectly secure, but we treat your details carefully.

Children

This site is meant for homeowners and isn’t directed to children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we update this policy, we’ll change the effective date above. Material changes will be noted on this page.
